Job Description
The Opportunity:
We're seeking a commercially minded Senior Commercial Analyst - Operations, to join MNA supporting decision-making through practical, insight-led financial analysis.
Working closely with the Black Swan Operations team at site (Clayton) and cross-functional teams (Head Office Mulgrave), this role will play a key role in driving performance across manufacturing, forecasting, product costing and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on opportunity to influence outcomes, identify efficiencies and contribute to the delivery of strong financial and operational results.

Key Responsibilities:
Operations S&OP Cycle (incl. forecasting and budgeting) tasks including:
Month end operations close (accruals) and reporting,
Presentation of results in monthly forums,
Support for the Annual Budget process
Identify operational variances, efficiencies, process improvements opportunities and drive outcomes with Operations team
Track R&Os with Operations team to ensure robust plans to achieve annual budget
Prepare monthly manufacturing usage variance (MUV) and purchase price variance (PPV) reports against actuals
Maintain and update standard costs in the ERP system (materials, labour, overheads)
Prepare Stage Gate P&L for upcoming new product launches/line extensions
Build financial models to understand the impact of new business opportunities
Capital investment appraisal supporting the build of capital investment business cases with key commercial metrics (NPV, IRR, Payback)
Desired Skills and Experience
To Succeed with us:
FMCG industry experience (preferred) – manufacturing experience mandatory
Experience supporting an operations / manufacturing team
Interest in working inside a production/manufacturing environment (this role sits at the site 2 days per week)
Proven ability to work effectively with teams and to business partner with a variety of stakeholders (finance and non-finance)
Strong commercial acumen developed through experience
Demonstrated experience of providing financial analysis to support business decision making
Ability to navigate financial systems including advanced skills in Microsoft, specifically Excel and PowerPoint (including pivot tables and formulas)
Tertiary Qualification in Finance, Accounting or related (must be recognised in Australia)
CA / CPA qualified (or equivalent)
5 years+ experience in a similar role
Pronto XI ERP experience (preferred but not essential)
