A role with great breadth - not your average AP/AR role

We’re seeking an Accounts Officer to join our collaborative Finance team in a role that offers far more than a traditional AP/AR position. It offers great breadth across the function, the opportunity to liaise with major suppliers and customers, and the autonomy and flexibility to use your initiative.
This is not your usual high-volume, repetitive processing role. While processing is part of the position, you’ll also support a broad range of accounts activities across our food manufacturing and sales business. You’ll use your initiative, customer service mindset and problem-solving skills to make a meaningful impact, from cash reconciliation and daily banking through to customer liaison and workflow management in Redmap.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurate and timely allocation of payments to the debtor ledger
Follow up outstanding accounts to ensure timely customer payment
Reconcile and allocate rebates and trading terms
Maintain customer accounts in line with company policy
Minimise bad debts through proactive follow-up
Manage the Redmap exception queue
Process weekly supplier payment runs
Manage daily banking and cash reconciliation
Liaise with major customers including supermarket chains
Identify and implement process improvements
Desired Skills and Experience
To Succeed With Us:
2–4 years experience in AR/AP roles
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Experience reconciling rebates and trading terms
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines under pressure
Team-oriented approach with a proactive mindset
FMCG experience advantageous
