Job Description
The Exciting Opportunity:
Our Smithfield site are currently seeking an experienced Forklift Team Leader to join the team! Within the role, you will be responsible for the operating of forklifts, pick and pack orders and maintain warehouse facilities and equipment in accordance with G.M.P, company policies, procedures and processes.
All applications for this position must have a current and valid forklift licence. Please note this role oversees the PM shift (2pm-10pm).
Leading the PM team
Help ensure the operations team meets its financial obligations by seeking to minimize waste and reduce costs
Ensuring all team members operate the forklift safely and efficiently
Maintain records and checklists accurately as required
Pick and pack orders as directed by supervisor
Organise the put away of products from vehicles and dock and maintain stock rotation
Loading of pallet into vehicles
Maintain quality standards of product storage, handling and transportation
Print connotes and ASN labels
Use of various warehouse management systems
Monitoring and replying to customer and internal emails
Co-ordination of warehouse tasks
Covering for the Supervisor when on leave.
Safe forklift operation and movement of warehousing consumables
Liaise with production staff to ensure optimum warehousing performance
Determine material requirements in order to meet scheduling outcomes
Report any maintenance issues of forklifts, warehouse machinery and equipment
Identify issues in the warehouse operations that pose risk of non-conformance to quality and safety standards
Report any safety, quality control and food safety issues
Data capture, administrative tasks and reporting
Be aware of and committed to company and statutory health and safety regulations
Operate within all company policies and requirements, including standard operating procedures, personnel policies and systems
Desired Skills and Experience
To thrive in this role, you will ideally possess:
Forklift licence essential
Demonstrated experience in a similar role with FMCG or warehousing
Understanding of food safety and relevant processes
Basic computer skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated drive, passion and commitment
Ability to plan
Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment
